The Advanced Manufacturing Lab (AML) is a leading research and innovation facility within the College of Engineering at the University of Guelph. Established in 2014, the AML supports industry and academic partners by delivering high-quality research, advanced manufacturing solutions, and expert consultation.
Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, simulation tools, and emerging technologies such as 3D printing, robotics, and automation, the AML enables efficient prototyping, process optimization, and manufacturing innovation.
The team is led by Dr. Ibrahim Deiab, a renowned professor at the University of Guelph with extensive expertise in advanced manufacturing, materials science, and process optimization. The lab has established partnerships with a wide range of companies, from startups to large multinational organizations, and has completed projects spanning process optimization, product design, and quality control. Under Dr. Deiab’s leadership, the AML brings together experienced engineers, researchers, and technicians to deliver practical, high-impact solutions while also supporting hands-on education and training for future manufacturing professionals.
